Job Description – Software Process Auditor

Bell is seeking Software ProcessAuditor to support supplier quality assurance operations at our location inFort Worth, TX.

This position monitorsevery phase of the software development process to ensure design quality,making sure that the aircraft delivered software adheres to the standards setby the development company and satisfies regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with systems and software development personnel, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers. Must work well in a team environment, have excellent customer interface skills, have effective interpersonal skills. The candidate is expected to quickly come up to speed with the software process auditor work scope, technical requirements, program risks, and delivery milestone schedule. The Software Process Auditor responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and approve systems, software and test equipment requirements, design and test documentation for compliance to process requirements and standards.

  • Participate/interface with the engineering counterparts on program activities to assure processes and products are compliant to contractual and company process requirements and standards.

  • Participate in the software change control process boards

  • Moderate travel may be required to support program activities and auditing software suppliers.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education: BS degree required, in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering (preferred)

Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum of two (2) years directly related work experience with aerospace/defense industry software processes (such as RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, MIL-STD-498, etc.)

  • Experience with government customers projects preferred.

  • Experience with FAA projects preferred.

  • Demonstrated basic understanding of audit techniques.

  • Demonstrated basic understanding of software development methods and software testing methods.

  • Ability to interpret schematic drawings, specifications, contracts that will enable development and review of systems & software processes.

  • Experience in software requirements development or testing preferred.

  • Software design and coding (C/C or other embedded programming languages) preferred.

  • Embedded software test equipment hardware knowledge or background preferred.

  • Effective Communication Skills: Written, Oral, Listening, Presentation, Technical Writing

  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Moderate travel may be required to support program activities and auditing software suppliers.
