SUMMARY:

This position will offer education introubleshooting, repairing and building prototype vehicles to support allProduct Development activities.

PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learning totroubleshoot and diagnose vehicles

  • Offer innovativeinput to Engineering staff to help meet overall program goals

  • Ability to workfrom written or verbal instructions

  • Organizeand maintain clean working areas

Qualifications

SKILLREQUIREMENTS:

  • Have a strongmechanical background

  • Diagnostic skills

  • Proficient withhand and power tools

  • Exposure to readingand comprehending prints and drawings

  • Inspect the finalproduct to ensure it is within specification and safe for operation

  • The idealcandidate will have exposure to one or more of the following:

  • Use of aMulti-meter (volt-ohm meter) for electrical troubleshooting

  • Small enginerebuild and repair

  • Performance ofpreventative maintenance (fuel systems, engines, brakes, suspensions,electrical)

BASICQUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiently andsafely operate hand tools and power tools (electric and pneumatic)

  • Maintainequipment to manufacturer’s specifications or accepted professional standards

  • Ability tocomplete highly mechanical work based on written direction from engineeringstaff

EDUCATION ANDEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High schoolgraduate or GED

  • Enrollment in AutomotiveTechnology at Augusta Tech or Aiken Tech

  • Basic computerskills in Windows OS and Microsoft Office

PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Able to work on their feet up to 90%of the work day

  • Ability to utilize normal mechanicshand tools

LICENSEAND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Clean driving record and drivers’ licenses
