* JobSummary:*

A Mechanical Engineer is responsible for a broad range of mechanicalengineering and multi-disciplinary tasks.Typical assignments will include mechanical design, analysis, andintegration at the system and component level.


  • Contribute to the development ofcomplex systems while working collaboratively across multiple engineeringdisciplines

  • Reading and interpretingengineering specifications

  • Structural design, analysis, andoptimization

  • Detailed design and technicaldrawings of systems, components, and interfaces

  • Technical input into vehiclelevel and sub-system trades

  • Engineering support ofdevelopment testing

  • Engineering support formanufacturing

  • Analysis and interpretation oftest data

  • Support technical reviews,including direct interaction with customers

  • Performing other job related dutiesas assigned by management



  • BS in Mechanical Engineering orMS in Engineering


  • Working knowledge of CAD modelingusing a major 3D software package (e.g., SolidWorks, ProE, UG-NX, or CATIA)

  • Knowledge of suspensionsystem/component design, power train component design (gearboxes,differentials, and transmissions), chassis design (tube frame, monocoque), andvehicle dynamics is desired

  • Ability to apply GD&T tocomponents and assemblies per ASME Y14.5-1994

  • Experience performing structural,and/or thermal analysis using FEA software

  • Exposure to and familiarity withprototype and low-volume manufacturing techniques including machining, casting,forging, and general fabrication

  • Must be a generalist withinvolvement in systems-level design and experience working in a cross-functionalengineering team

  • Aptitude for interactingconfidently with engineers, project managers, and customers.

  • Ability to multi-task anddemonstrate attention to quality, timeliness, awareness of budget constraints,and other programmatic considerations

  • Comfortable working to highlyaccelerated program timelines and committed to meeting project deadlines

  • Ability to effectivelycommunicate with engineering and manufacturing staff, internal and external tothe organization.

  • Experience using MS Officesoftware

  • Knowledge of ANSI/ISO/ASQ Q9000 orequivalent quality system is desired
