POSITION DETAILS

SUMMARY:

TheProduction Scheduler position is a dynamic role that encompasses responsibilityfor the planning of material requirements, managing deliveries, managinginventory, communicating orders with the fabrication shops and assembly. Thisposition will work very closely with the supply base and the shop floor toidentify opportunities for productivity improvements, avoid downtime, avoidcost increases, and reduce lead-times. Also plays an integral role in ensuringtotal customer satisfaction in a continuous improvement environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish andcoordinate assembly schedules in a factory environment to ensure the mostefficient flow of materials, parts and assemblies between or within departments

  • Attend dailymeetings to prioritize and plan production activities to maintain on-timedelivery - monitor execution of production orders and adjust schedules to meetthe deadlines

  • Work crossfunctionally as part of the Production Control team to address equipmentdowntime, material shortages and other factory problems

  • Enhance the usageof company’s SAP system for accurate scheduling and to drive improvements inassembly (minimize downtime, reduce inefficiencies, reduce excess inventory,etc.)

  • Maintain SAPsettings based on changing line rates/seasonality/demand

  • Develop, maintainand analyze production control reports to drive improvements in assembly

  • Drive complicatedsystem related issues to resolution

  • Workcross-functionally as part of the Production Control team on manufacturingprocess reviews and new products - review / process CN’s through Team Center

  • Complete and communicate engineering change notices, specialmanufacturing request, and order change notices

  • Coordinate process for parts that have further outside procurementprocess

  • Analyzes raw material demand for purchase and on-time delivery inan MRP environment

  • Places purchase orders and expeditesmaterials to meet weekly production plans

  • Monitors supply base performance asrelated to delivery and quality, and works with the supply base to resolveissues

  • Implements and documents plans for allpart number changes or usage changes

  • Manages inventory levels to avoidexcessive inventory, inventory shortages, and/or inventory inaccuracies withindefined guidelines

  • Keepup-to-date on both actual and potential supply problems and/or delivery issues;provide timely communications and analysis to management

  • Developand promote better ways of analyzing and communicating service to internal customers

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in business or related workexperience required.
