To assist Leadership in the instruction, training, and overall second shift operations of the fabrication department and to promote teamwork and progress among all employees.
Master all jobs on the team to be able to train new employees
Train the team on standard work
Train team members to be multi-skilled and flexible
Encourage and facilitate job rotation
Assist operations leader and team members with developing standards for workplace organization
Audit housekeeping in assigned workstations daily and weekly
Lead daily kick-off meetings, reviewing SQDC
Complete and train employees on Near Miss submissions
Lead CI and 5S initiative
Know the quality standards associated with and related to the team’s processes
Ensure that each team member is educated on quality standards
Measure and document quality standards within team
Initiate process improvements based upon quality trend data
Conduct torque tool validation
Update SQDC boards
If defects are found, complete the line side reviews with the team members and supervise them for recurrence prevention.
Allocate manpower according to situation/skill level
Perform role of team member in case of absenteeism
Perform role of team leader if any team situation requires
Track team absenteeism and report trends to Operations Leader
Leads 8 to 20 employees in operations
The employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
The employee must occasionally lift up to 40 pounds with assistance.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
* EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE *
Must have a minimum of High School Degree or GED.
Minimum of three to five years manufacturing experience preferred and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous leadership experience preferred.
Good communication skills.
Basic computer skills preferred.
