Individualwill be responsible for overseeing the Warehouse area. The Team Leader is toassist Leadership in the instruction, training, and over-all operation of thedepartment and to promote teamwork and progress among all employees. The TeamLeader is responsible for the operational performance including, but notlimited to:

  • Safety

  • Quality

  • Productivity


  • Master all jobs on the team

  • Maintain team training log

  • Assure departmental compliance with all established policies

  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace

  • Identify training needs and facilitate departmental employee training process

  • Meet all departmental goals and develop corrective actions when goals are notmet

  • Establish and maintain positive employee relationships

  • Communicate with other Team Leaders, Sr. Team Leaders and Managers

  • Assist with developing standards for workplace organization

  • Troubleshoot issues and develop corrective actions

  • Facilitate departmental Continuous Improvement initiative

  • Audit safety and housekeeping in assigned workstations daily and weekly

  • Lead daily kick-off meetings, reviewing SQDIP boards

  • Complete and train employees on Near Miss submissions

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Know the quality standards associated with and related to the team’s processes

  • Ensure that each team member is educated on quality standards

  • Make quality standards visual to team

  • Measure and document quality standards within team

  • Initiate process improvements based upon quality trend data

  • Validate that team members are utilizing standardized work


  • Allocate manpower according to situation/skill level

  • Perform role of team member in case of absenteeism

  • Perform role of team leader if any team situation requires

  • Track team absenteeism and report trends to Operations Leader


  • Leads 8 to 20 employees in operations



  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent

  • 2 years in a Team Leader position or related experience and/or training


Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.

  • 3-5 years related manufacturing, assembly or warehouse experience and/ortraining; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must be able to work first or second shift operations

  • Ability to perform fundamental calculations using percentages, ratios andfractions

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to document in written form ideas, technical data, calculations,conclusions and other necessary information

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft: Office, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Experience with and a fundamental understanding of LEAN manufacturingphilosophy

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
