Summary:

This position will supervise, assign work, and lead daily production activities conducted by the Broussard Blade Repair site, and will assist with scheduling, quoting, and ensuring blade repair processes are followed. This position will align production efforts with Repair Station oversight, requirements, processes, and procedures.

Responsibilities will include

  • Supervise, lead, and direct technical team members of blade repair

  • Oversee and ensure blade repairs are completed efficiently and correctly

  • Quote jobs for customers and maintain communication during regular work hours and beyond if necessary

  • Review work order edits for accuracy as needed

  • Ensure quoted hours and schedule are met

  • Work closely with Logistics and Procurement to ensure parts required for blade repair operations are ordered and scheduled to meet necessary timelines

  • Conduct or assist in interviews, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions as required

  • Assist in training personnel on proper Repair Station procedures and maintenance practices, ensuring each worker uses pertinent technical data and material (i.e. manufacturer’s repair and inspection manuals, service bulletins, related Federal Aviation Regulations, etc.)

  • Provide constructive feedback to improve performance and develop others

  • Enable direct reports to successfully complete tasks by monitoring, coaching, providing feedback, acquiring resources, problem solving, listening, and informing

  • Understand capabilities and career aspirations of direct reports in order to plan for and guide their development

  • Delegate leadership responsibilities and implement control systems to ensure accountability

  • Empower employees to take initiative

  • Recognize and rewarding employees' contributions

  • Offer technical guidance to other departments inside of Bell Helicopter as needed

  • Oversee upkeep of shop equipment and tools and cleanliness of work stations

Qualifications

Position requirements:

  • 5 years helicopter maintenance/avionics experience

  • Familiarity with FAA regulations, policies and guidelines

  • Ability to supervise and teach others

  • Experience in customer service/support

  • General understanding of basic business practices

  • Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated

  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand installation instructions, blueprints, maintenance manuals

  • Talent development

Educational requirement:

High school diploma or GED

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently

  • Ability to work in and out of doors, in confined spaces, off ladders, and around expensive and fragile parts

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree

  • 5 years experience maintaining or working with rotor wing rotor blades

  • 2 years supervising others
