Manufacturing Research and Development Sr Engineer


Position Summary:

The MRD Sr Engineer will perform engineering tasks to develop and apply new manufacturing methods, processes, systems, machines, or tooling. The Engineer will support development and use of composite material and assembly on advanced aerospace vehicles or test articles.

The MRD Sr Engineerposition involves original and creative design, analytical, development work, and superior leadership in an engineering discipline.Technical administrative activities are required. A recognizable specialized technical skill is essential to this position.Excellent communication, interpersonal, computer and technical writing skills are mandatory.The position requires compliance with industry test standards, ISO, NAVAIR, FAA, TCA, EASA, ITAR, EAR and GCCP Safety of Flight requirements.

Detailed knowledge of manufacturing technologies should include some, but not necessarily all of the following:


  • Composites Manufacturing Processes

  • Knowledge of various materials

  • Drilling & machining operations

  • Aerospace Design, Materials, Tooling and Processes

  • Airframe, Rotors, and/or Drive Systems Manufacturing and Assembly

  • Project Planning and Budgeting

  • Computer Networking and Applications

  • Advanced Inspection Technologies (NDI, etc) and Quality Control

  • Aerospace Business Systems/Practices

  • Additive manufacturing

  • Statistics and application of quality control principles



  • Bachelors in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science or other closely related Engineering discipline

  • Advanced knowledge of composite materials, aerospace structures, familiarity with aerospace industry manufacturing methods

  • Prior work experience in engineering or technical position in aerospace related field
