Textron Systems Unmanned Systems is looking for mechanical engineering co-ops for our Mechanical Design engineering teams. These teams design and integrate military hardware on our ground, sea, and air platforms such as the Universal Ground Control Station (UGCS), the Common Unmanned Surface Vessel, (CUSV), the Shadow UAV, and the Aerosonde UAV. Textron Systems' Mechanical Engineering Co-op program provides the student an opportunity to develop a professional engineering skill set while working in a fast-paced environment with cutting edge technology.

Our co-ops are integral members of the design team, and work under the supervision of lead mechanical engineers. Daily responsibilities include research and trade studies, developing mechanical design concepts, performance calculations, structural and thermal analysis, and hands-on support of testing and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate basic understanding of the following:

  • Solid modeling

  • Mechanical drawings

  • Common fabrication and assembly processes

  • Structural design fundamentals

  • Fastening and joining

  • Small engine integration and subsystems

  • Operation of measurement tools, strain gages, and data acquisition systems

  • Engineering lab safety

Education:

  • Undergraduate currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.2

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
