The Small Unmanned Aircraft product area of Textron Unmanned Systems is looking for talented electrical engineers to design the next generation of unmanned aircraft and related ground support equipment. As an electrical engineer, you will perform a variety of assignments including engineering analysis, detailed sub-system electrical design, integration, test, and manufacturing and field support. A strong candidate will possess a broad knowledge base in multiple engineering disciplines and be able to execute in both R&D and production environments.   • Perform detailed design of electrical and electronic assemblies and cabling.

  • Perform hardware engineering activities within the electrical engineering team.

  • Develop imaginative, thorough, practical technical solutions to a wide range of difficult engineering problems.

  • Contribute to concept development as part of internal cross-functional design teams, including prototyping and production support.

  • Generate Statements of Work and monitor outside contractor performance.

  • Conduct liaison activities with subcontractors and external manufacturers, as well as internal and external customers at all levels.

  • Perform testing and integration, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Prepare high-quality formal engineering documentation such as drawings, presentations, specifications, design presentations to customers, test plans, and test reports.

  • Support proposal activity, providing input to cost estimates and risk assessments.

  • Drive tasks to completion independently.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

  • Desire and ability to operate in a cross-functional team environment is required.

  • Experience with electronic circuit design, schematic capture, board layout techniques, and circuit board manufacturing.

  • Experience programming for small embedded processors.

  • Experience operating test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, and power supplies including scripting for remote control of test equipment.

  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including preparation of design documentation.

  • Effective presentation skills.

  • Familiarity with and ability to use computer-aided design tools is required; Labview and MatLab are preferred.

  • Eligible to receive a security clearance (Secret level).
