SR. TRAINER/DEVELOPER- TRAINER DEVELOPER
Candidate will serve as a Customer Trainer/Sr. Customer Trainer. In this position, one will be required to build and sustain equipment and system knowledge on evolving hardware, software, and procedures while maintaining a level of technical knowledge to be considered the subject matter expert. As the subject matter expert (SME), one will develop curriculum and instruct others in both classroom and field environments utilizing various methodologies of instruction and facilitation, while adhering to a set schedule. This position may include some travel in support of training and evaluation in various parts of the world. Must possess or be able to secure a secret security clearance.
Serve as classroom, and/or field trainer/instructor to provide initial qualification, refresher, sustainment, and remedial training. Document and track student progress.
Conduct training task analysis. Assure that uniform and efficient training and publications processes are applied on assigned programs.
Coordinate editing, production, and delivery of materials. Coordinate quality control activities to assure the accuracy and adequacy of each training product including in-process/final review, editing for compliance with all applicable specifications and standards, validation and change verification.
Conduct course development; develop and present formal training courses and materials.
Evaluate training methods and recommend changes/improvements to ensure efficient and effective qualification of students.
Perform as a Subject Matter Expert for maintenance related issues. Provide technical and operational expertise for training device hardware and software development, testing, and utilization. Interface with hardware, software, and human systems integration engineering personnel to support product improvement.
Provide training or classroom leadership and direction.
Conduct performance evaluations
Manage and coordinate unmanned flight line activities.
Assist with preparation of technical, cost, and schedule estimates and proposals. Prepare plans for accomplishing training and documentation tasks. Read and interpret contracts and specifications and assist with determining detailed requirements.Other responsibilities may include:
Operational support of Unmanned or Manned platforms in the field or contingency environments.
Travel and deploy worldwide with military forces or commercial customers as required.
Direct interface with various customers.
Will be required to work odd shifts, weekends, and/or extended hours.
Responsible for data management and generation.
Provides general logistics functions.
Troubleshoots technical problems and issues and determines technical solutions.
Practice ISO 9001 and AS 9100 Total Quality principles and concepts.
Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years related experience or with a degree in Unmanned Systems/Aviation related sciences/curriculum.
Or an Associate’s Degree with 5 years related experience - Or High School/equivalent with 7 years of related experienceMust currently possess at least one of the following certifications:
Shadow Instructor Operator Certificate
Aerosonde Operator, FCC, or MT1 Certificate of Competency along with Instructor Credentials
NATOPS Instructor or Evaluator
Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) or Aviation Instructor Credentials
Consideration will be given to candidates with a strong training or instructional background in addition to aviation experience
Airframe and Powerplant CertificationLicenses / Certifications:FAA licenses or certificates such as private pilot, commercial pilot, instrument rating, CFI, CFI-I, A&P, IA are highly desirable.Must possess or be able to gain Instructor/Operator qualification/certification to perform the duties of a UAS operator and/ or maintenance instructor.Preferred Position Requirements:
Background in training or education.
Experience with working on aviation flight lines.
Experience with multimedia development programs such as PowerPoint, Photoshop, etc.
Manned aviation or UAS experience is required. Prior qualification on unmanned platform highly desirable though significant and relevant manned experience will be considered.
Candidate must be able to safely and effectively perform the duties of a maintainer without supervision including flight line operations, ground equipment setup and logs and records.
Ability to coordinate flight schedules, maintenance schedules, resources, inventory management, and other aspects of maintenance operations.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills and networking are required.
Strong attention to detail in administrative requirements and reporting accuracy required.
Must communicate effectively with internal and external customers both verbally and in writing, and possess strong leadership skills.
Strong organizational skills are necessary.
Prior deployed experience as a UAS crewmember a desired plus.
Amount of travel dependent on contract award, during periods of high instructional demand, candidate will be stationed at Hunt Valley, MD
Relocation to Hunt Valley, MD required.
Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance within 90 days of hire. Possession of current DoD secret clearance preferred.Physical Requirements:Occasional lifts or pulls of up to 50 pounds are normal and the physical requirements include stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, climbing, handling, fingering, and feeling. Though many of the working locations are in covered or climate controlled facilities, the applicant may be required to work in extreme hot or cold temperatures in multiple environmental climates.
