TheStrategic Sourcing Manager will lead the commodity teams to develop andmaintain the sourcing strategy for the Textron Systems Electronics Systemsbusiness. This position is responsible for all pricing, delivery and qualitymetrics for the entire purchased material supply chain. This is a leadershiprole that requires strategic thinking, planning, mentoring, managerial courage,negotiating, business acumen, and a passion for results.
Provideoverall supply chain management for the Electronic Systems business.
Developand implement sourcing strategies for supply chain: determine optimum number ofsuppliers, identify those that require long-term agreements (LTAs), evaluate marketsfor competitiveness, and ensure qualification of potential suppliers.
Developand lead the commodity team members.
Maintainawareness of overall economic conditions—including commodity and currencytrends, supplier/logistics risks, and global market fluctuations.
Leadsupplier negotiations to achieve the lowest total cost by maximizing objectivesfor cost, quality, delivery, and service.
Leadcross-functional teams to research, select and launch suppliers. Provideleadership for transition of parts and tooling to growth suppliers.
Developand improve processes to systematically track and report on supply chainscorecard metrics.
Providedirect leadership support for Materials and Quality teams to address supplierdelivery and quality issues.
Supportaccounts payable to resolve open payables issues.
- Minimumof Bachelor degree preferably in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering,MBA aplus.
7 years strategic sourcing experience.
Demonstratedexperience in developing and implementing sourcing strategies resulting in aworld-class supply base that
met orexceeded cost, quality, delivery and service goals.
Abilityto successfully negotiate long-term agreements, non-disclosure agreements, etc.with a global supply base.
Demonstratedleadership with cross-functional teams through supplier identification,selection and launch process.
Demonstratedexperience in supply base evaluation, commodity markets, and currencyfluctuation.
Excellentverbal and written communication skills to manage global supply chain.
Strongcomputer skills including MS Excel, Word, Project. Oracle experience is a plus.
License and Certification Requirements:
- SupplyChain certification through APICS or ISM is a plus.
