Supplier Development Engineer

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Subcontracts, the Supplier Development Engineer will provide technical leadership in developing, maintaining, improving, and fixing suppliers.
Responsibilities to Include:
Participate and influence source evaluation and selection
Lead root cause and corrective action activities to resolve technical and schedule supply issues
Lead technical interchange meetings and production readiness assessments at suppliers
Conduct production readiness reviews with tier one suppliers and appropriate sub-tier suppliers
Complete Manufacturing Readiness Level evaluations
Lead the development of Transition to Production teams
Work with suppliers to develop and continuously improve processes with particular emphasis on quality, delivery, and cost
Perform supplier risk and capacity assessments and develop mitigation strategies and plans
Implement and perform statistical analysis techniques at suppliers – including SPC and Process Capability
Interface with internal customers (design engineering, procurement, manufacturing, etc.) to align priorities
6 years experience in an engineering discipline or product development. Bachelors degree in Engineering — Mechanical or Materials focus preferred
Must be willing and able to travel extensively, including internationally 75%
Bias for action and quickly resolving difficult problems
Able to creatively achieve mission objectives while maintain compliance and the highest standards of quality
Proven Lean / Six Sigma skills. Green and or Black Belt certification preferred.
Able to work autonomously, with limited direction
Excellent computer skills, especially with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, Excel)
Excellent organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills
