Electrical Engineer I
Manages the electrical design aspects of mobile Ground Support vehicles.This includes design, prototyping, documentation, and manufacturing implementation.
Create production-ready 2D and 3D prints to be used by internal and external suppliers in the procurement of production parts.
Develop electrical schematic drawings to accurately reflect existing products.
Develop electrical harness drawings to accurately reflect existing products.Harnesses must be designed in the 3D model environment.
Assist in the design and documentation of vehicle electrical architecture.
Communicate effectively with existing staff to develop a thorough understanding of the Ground Support Equipment.
Revise/review and create Functional Specifications.
Follow Textron Specialized Vehicles product development process and methods for tracking project status and open issues.
Lead project elements and maintain frequent contact with other functional areas, contract engineering services and suppliers.
Must be a “Hands On” Engineer – willing to build prototypes and work on vehicles as needed.
Strong background in automotive or mobile equipment electronics.
Ability to articulate and understand electrical/mechanical concepts and turn these ideas into documented designs.
Strong understanding of standard drafting practices.
Must show leadership abilities as well as the ability to work without direct supervision.
Basic mechanical skills and manual dexterity allowing for work on mobile equipment.
Experience with solid modeling and the creation of 2D drawings.Autodesk Inventor experience is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft office products
Must possess a valid driver’s license, passport and be available for intermittent overnight travel both stateside and abroad.
Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering from accredited 4 year program, or equivalent
LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
