Structures Technician - Lafayette, LA
To fabricate the 525 helicopter fuselage using a complex tooling string in order to meet customer requirements.
Responsible for self -verification of close tolerance holes
Perform metal-to-metal and metal-to-composite bonding per specification
Interpret engineering drawings for assembly and repair work as needed
Perform major/sub-assemblies using electronic work instructions
Align, assemble and install major fuselage components into tooling fixtures using measuring instruments, hand tools, power tools and testing equipment
Discern between properly installed rivets, fasteners, screws and follow written engineering instructions for remove and repair procedures
Perform minor and major repairs and alterations on aircraft structures
Communicate with supervision to assure completion of assigned task within the allowed time frame
Inspect and sign off installation and repair within repair station guidelines
Monitor work order books to ensure all work is completed and inspected for each aircraft
Must be able to read and understand engineering data including installation instructions and drawings.
Must be able to perform installations, modifications and repairs to insure fuselages conform to FAA type design.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Must have at least 6 months of mechanic, shop, or assembly experience
Repair, alterations, and inspections experience and a strong understanding of the function, operation, maintenance and repair of airframe components preferred.
Airframe certificate holder or formal aircraft school training preferred.
