Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Applies pre-mixed and blended paint or coating tointerior and exterior of assembled aircraft or parts. Prepares surfaces for paintingand protects surfaces from corrosion.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mix and apply various primers with thicknessrequirements (epoxy, waterborne, zinc chromate)

  • Mix and apply various topcoat finishes includingstripping and other detail work- polyurethanes, epoxy, lacquers, clears (gloss,semi gloss and flat colors)

  • Mix and apply various dry lubes to thicknessrequirements and bake curing specs

  • Apply markings to part using stencils and masking aids

  • Work and understand from mil specs, detailedblueprints, fabrication, assembly outlines, sketches, patterns, and written orverbal instructions.

  • Set up, maintain, and operate such typical shopequipment as paint mixers, HVLP paint guns, permascope or other paint measuringequipment, stencil maker, and other general shop equipment and tools tocomplete work assignments

  • Performs work in both FOD (foreign object debris)awareness sensitive environments, ensures all assemblies and detail parts arefree FOD

andnon-conformance issues.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Tech School preferred

+<1 year relevant industry or Able experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to perform detailed masking requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy and awkward objects

  • Mechanical ability
