JOB SUMMARY:

Run, set up, and edit jobs on manual and Mills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Operate Milling Machines with assistance

  2. Learn how to set up and use the following tools: Micrometer, Vernier Caliper, Dial Indicator, Depth Micrometer, Radius Gauge, Thread Gauge

  3. Recognizing when the machine is running right or wrong and troubleshooting the reason

  4. Change out tooling when needed

  5. Perform part inspection

  6. Maintain equipment and work area

  7. Set up some manual and CNC equipment, ability to prove out and edit some programs

  8. Change basic cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed.

  9. Identify, organize, estimate, and recognize differences or similarities with excellent attention to detail.

  10. Resolve problems by making decisions to correct geometric constraints.

  11. Assist in equipment set up to help eliminate non-conformance and spindle down time.

  12. Perform part inspection and in process inspections

  13. Setup basic inspection tools, including but not limited to: Micrometers, gage blocks

  14. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma, Tech School Preferred/ FAA Airframe & Powerplant license

  • 1 years CNC Mill experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to perform basic math skills efficiently and accurately

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to aerospace industry

  • Intro to basic Blueprint reading, basic knowledge of GD&T, basic machine operation “Button Pusher,” to Machining and knowledge of basic cutting tools

  • Learning of basic materials and properties

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and nonverbal

  • Ability to adapt to change and deal with stressful situations calmly and effectively

  • Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges

  • Strong attention to details

  • Aerospace, Okuma and Fryer experience is preferred

  • Basic knowledge of machining equipment capabilities, required maintenance, blueprint reading, knowledge of GD&T

  • Basic ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Some skills in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and other inspection gauges

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to the aerospace industry

  • Ability to identify, organize, estimate, and recognize differences or similarities with excellent attention to detail

  • Basic ability to set-up and run jobs to include fixturing, open set-ups and trouble-shoot set-ups

  • Ability to lead and develop others

  • Ability to perform mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and non-verbal.

  • Proficient in computer applications; including Microsoft Word

  • Ability to adapt to change and deal with stressful situations calmly and effectively

  • Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges

  • Strong attention to detail
