The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for theincreased sales performance and profitability of Sherman Reilly, HD Electricand Greenlee Utility products to new and established distributor partners,Utility Contractors and Electric Utilities within a specific geographic region.Territory Managers establishes sales strategies and achieves sales goalsrelative to those accounts through direct contact and product demonstration.This job requires broad knowledge of the company’s products, services, policiesrelative to customers and knowledge of distributor and contractor businessmodel.
Thisposition reports to the Regional Sales Manager and manages Utility business withina defined area. This position interfaces with all levels of the organizationincluding, but not limited to Sales Application Engineers, Regional SalesManagers, Product Management, Engineering and Marketing.
Developsand implements a strategic sales plan to increase sales and profits for Sherman Reilly, HDE and Greenlee Utility products to established and new customers.
Developsa plan to identify and convert competitive product and works the plan toclosure.
Leveragessales programs, promotions and market development funds for the best value ofthe company and distributors.
Initiatescategory management for benefit of Sherman Reilly and the distributorpartner. Roles include: GMROI analysis, turns analysis, self administered VMI.Maintains awareness of distributor inventories; works to insure adequatelevels.
Managesprofitability of the account from a distributor’s perspective while maximizingprofitability for Sherman Reilly Utility Division. Margin analysis andpricing to be evaluated as well.
Merchandisescounter displays to ensure Utility products are prominently displayed,organized and shelf space is maximized and optimized.
Conductstraining sessions with distributor representatives and end users to educatethem in proper use and effective sales techniques of Sherman Reilly andrelated utility tools.
Providesinput to Product Managers regarding product upgrades or obsolescence.
Maintains awareness of competitors and productlines.
Represents the company at trade shows, distributormeetings, etc.
Introduces, promotes and gains placement ofnew products.
Maintains regular sales call frequency onmajor end-users in assigned territory as required to increase sales.
Maintains company vehicle and demo tools inneat and orderly fashion.
Completes and submitskey account and other key initiative plans.
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
4 years of industry or sales experience withdemonstrated achievements in selling Utility products through distribution andto end-users is desired
Strong presentation skills
Depending on location, travel will be anywherebetween 10% - 30%.
Knowledge of the Utility distribution functionstrongly desired
Microsoft office suite knowledge required
Willingness to travel by air
Requires occasional lifting of productsweighing up to 50 lbs.
