The Company is currently searching for an experienced taxprofessional to fill the Tax Manager position in our Domestic Tax Team with afocus on state and local income taxes. Thisrole represents a great opportunity to become a member of a dynamic taxdepartment comprised of highly-skilled and motivated tax professionalscommitted to providing team members with challenging and diverse tax workexperience. This position reports to the Director Tax Audits and Compliance asa member of the Domestic Tax Team and involves coordination of Company’s taxreporting requirements related primarily to state and local tax returnpreparation and review, financial statement reporting for income taxes (ASC740), state and local audit support for the Company , development of staffmembers, research related to complex state and local tax issues and specialproject work.
Review of complex corporate state and local income tax returns including unitary state tax returns
Review of quarterly estimate and extension calculations and payments
Review of documentation to support state tax adjustments and state tax credits
Assist reporting team with tax provision inputs
Responsible for various special projects related to items such as the state implications of Tax Reform, Section 382 and state NOL carryovers
Research enacted and proposed legislation and prepare research memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents as necessary to support conclusions
Coordinate with other tax department team members on state and local audit defense
Provide internal tax advisory services and assist in tax planning projects
Participate and lead in implementation of state and local tax compliance process improvement initiatives
Direct, manage, develop, and mentor Domestic Tax Team staff members and assess performance through formal periodic reviews and informal feedback
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to use these skills to make quality decisions in a timely manner
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of the fundamentals of accounting based on US GAAP, ASC 740, consolidated tax return regulations, and multi state tax concepts
Advanced communication skills as evidenced by clear, effective communication and taking responsibility for understanding others
Highly developed project management skills as evidenced by experience managing tax compliance requirements, related processes, and organizing people and activities to complete a project
Demonstrated advanced working knowledge of separate company and unitary state tax compliance including state tax forms, schedules and disclosures required with the ability to apply this expertise to the business environment
Must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, new ideas, perspectives, strategies and positions
Able to develop and articulate vision and support leadership in development of strategy and execution
Experienced with Excel and compliance software
BS in Accounting
Proven experience in a corporate tax environment or public and private industry experience. Prior public accounting experience helpful.
CPA and/or MST preferable
