Position Summary:

As a key member of the Greenlee marketing team, the Market Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing programs for the assigned sales channels. This includes developing and executing trade show strategies, coordination, messaging and follow up activity. In addition, the role is responsible for driving merchandising initiatives, executing tactical marketing strategies and leading cross-functional projects to drive and support the organizations marketing and sales needs.

Organizational Relationship:

The Market Specialist reports to the Marketing Manager and interfaces with all levels of management, product management, sales, marketing, as well as, customers and media.

Leadership Competencies:

The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of initiative, creativity and action-orientation and customer focus. They will possess a strong analytic/planning competency and be adept at dealing with ambiguity, possess strong business acumen, conflict management, time management, organizational skills (ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on deadline), and attention to detail with the ability to proof/edit content. Ability to work across the organization and leverage strong peer relationships and organizational agility are a must.

Human Relations:

It is a requirement that this position deal effectively and professionally with all departments within Greenlee including executive levels, as well as, customers and suppliers. The individual must be an excellent communicator, orally and written, manage multiple projects and able to effectively identify and resolve complex problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the development and execution of new sales and marketing programs, merchandising strategies, selling tools, etc. to drive incremental sales and profitability. Regularly evaluate these programs.

  • Develop, coordinate, and execute all trade shows. Work closely with sales, product management, industry partners, and vendors to do so in alignment with the organization’s strategies and scope of the shows and events.

  • Track marketing strategy results closely and create reports with data analysis and other feedback.

  • Engage with other Greenlee business functions to drive and support marketing needs, plan and execute special projects, events, etc.

  • Build brand awareness in strategic segments within the electrical and industrial industries.

  • Manage external vendor relationships and negotiations to execute marketing strategies, promotional events and campaigns.

  • Undertake individual tasks of a marketing plan as assigned.

  • Conducts all business in accordance with the Company’s Conduct Guidelines.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

  • 4 - 6 years of professional experience is preferred.

  • Possess a high aptitude, in order to quickly learn the electrical and industrial markets, as well as, the channels of distribution.

  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team environment.

  • Strong general computer and written and oral communication skills a must.

  • Experience with digital automation platforms (i.e. Pardot) and social media campaigns is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Normally assigned to an office environment; may occasionally be required to exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently as well as reach, grasp, finger, lift, push and/or pull objects. Travel will be required to conduct the activities of this position.
