Leads procurement function and activities for Textron Systems: Marine & Land Systems business.


  • Direct procurement activity within designated commodity.

  • Responsible for managing overall sourcing strategy, tactical procurement, quality, delivery schedule and cost performance of supply base.

  • Specific responsibilities may include the following: establish and communicate high level procurement objectives and strategic approach, supervise commodity team and implement specific commodity strategies; establish priorities, assign workloads; create responses to legal correspondence; interpret and review contract provisions for accuracy and revisions; work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality, seamless customer service.

  • Develop work assignments and objectives for team members; develop and implement long term contracts with growth suppliers; identify and implement strategy for cost out opportunities.



  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field.

  • Progress towards Masters Degree and Program Management or Operations Management experience is desired.


  • 5 years of professional experience preferred.

  • Preference for individuals with direct experience performing key procurement activities, including commodity strategy development, contract writing and administration, supplier negotiation, purchase order placement and order management.

  • Experience with systems related to purchase order transactions and contracts/subcontracts administration.

  • Technical experience with a commodity and/or significant leadership experience will be considered in lieu of procurement expertise.

  • Government contracting and aerospace experience a plus


  • Strong leadership, communication, and team building skills.

  • Strong ability to develop and implement business strategy in a procurement environment.

  • Financial and operational expertise.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in negotiation strategies and tactics.

  • Self starter, ability to work in a team environment to achieve desired objectives.

  • Experience in applying Continuous Improvement/Lean Principle Tools a plus.
