The Mechanical Assembler Intern must be a highly-motivated self-driven team player who can perform complex mechanical tasks and basic electrical tasks. The preferred candidate also has the ability to perform effectively in multiple simulator environments, including prototype and production.
The Mechanical Assembler Intern reports to the Production Supervisor.
Perform assembly, installation and repair of electro-mechanical systems, assemblies, sub-assemblies, cables, and wire harnesses per engineering drawings, parts lists and work orders
Perform verification tests per specific instructions and/or reference documentation
Recommend system/document improvements
Mentor and perform work inspection of peers
Communicate issue mitigation options and recommendations
Other related duties as assigned by the production supervisor
Qualifications and Experience:
Pursing Associates Degree or equivalent technical training/experience preferred
Prior experience in related field preferred
Familiarity with the use of test equipment,the operation of electrical and mechanical hand tools, and with theassembly, installation and repair of electro-mechanical systems, assemblies, and sub-assemblies
Read and understand engineering drawings, parts lists, wire lists and system prints
Work cooperatively in a team environment
Work independently with little guidance
Basic computer skills
Strong communication skills (written and oral)
Must be able to fulfill the full length of the Intern Program (approximately. 3 months)
