Position Summary / Job Description :

This long-term deployed position manages aircraft mechanics at the Marine Corp Air Station Futenma in Okinawa, Japan.Maintains all aircraft/systems in accordance with and within the limitations of the FAA and the aircraft manufacturer.Reports directly to the Site Manager and USMC on a day to day basis.Responsible for the flight line operations to include launch and recovery to support the contractual mission requirements and O level maintenance of UC-35C/D aircraft.

Job Duties:

  • Plan and lead effort to maintain USMC UC-35C/D (Cessna Citation 560) aircraft

  • Performs O-Level maintenance on aircraft to ensure aircraft are mission ready.

  • Reports to Site Manager on a daily basis for work assignments.

  • Inspect and certify aircraft at specific intervals as required by Cessna, USN, USMC and Government.

  • Troubleshoot system malfunctions and perform necessary corrective actions

  • Remove and replace defective components.

  • Comply with Service Bulletins, Instructions and Airworthiness Directives as directed.

  • Perform preflight and postflight, turn around inspections and servicing when required.

  • Perform maintenance on Ground Support Equipment (GSE), mechanic hand tools, sheet metal tools per OEM-approved technical data.

  • Maintain aircraft logbooks and historical data as required.

  • Wash, wax, clean and maintain exterior and interior of aircraft.

Qualifications

Education and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent Military / Technical Hands-on training with 10 years experience in aviation maintenance.

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate with a minimum 10 years experience in aviation maintenance.

  • 5 or more years experience maintaining Cessna Citation 500 Series aircraft, Citation 560 strongly preferred.

  • Valid US drivers’ license.

  • Previoius leadership experience in a deployed environment.

  • Familiar with FAA regulatory requirements.

  • Previous leadership role in a deployed environment.

  • Experience in working with DOD agencies and US military.

  • 10 or more years of recent hands on airframe and powerplant experience of which five years are in a supervisory or management capacity.

  • Results-driven with strong focus on delivering significant quality benefits.

  • Strong bias for action and ability to demonstrate initiative..

  • High-achieving and ambitious self-starter with a track record of successful accomplishments in training operations.

  • Must have an in-depth knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations.

  • Physical ability to lift and handle 50 lbs and perform climbing and stooping as related to the job.

  • A background in USN/USMC aviation and maintenance management preferred.

  • Previous military experience in the field of aviation maintenance.

  • Mustbe able to deploy to Japan for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to work a 40 hour work week (5 days per week, 8 hours per day).

  • Must possess a US Passport with the ability to obtain a Work Visa for Japan.

  • Must possess SECRET security clearance
