HVAC Mechanic

Description

Primary Duties:

Install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair refrigeration, air conditioning, and air movement equipment such as exhaust thermostats, filtering units, compressors, motors, refrigeration, air movement and other associated equipment. Interpret prints, sketches and diagrams. Use electrical and mechanical testing devices and mechanical and electrical tools.

Qualifications

General Requirements:

  • Perform other duties inherently required of the job classification

  • Perform assigned work ina safety conscious manner

  • Perform assigned work to specified quality and production standards

  • Maintain equipment and tools used by the individual in a clean condition

  • Perform assigned cleaning required to maintain individual’s immediate work area in a clean condition

  • Prepare and/or maintain all documentation necessary to the duties of the job classification

Prerequisites:

  • Completion of HVAC/Refrigeration Program and certification as Type I and Type II Technician as required by 40CFR part 82 Subpart F by an EPA approved certifying organization

  • Must pass relevant HVAC test

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
